What is Consult with Roy?
Consult with Roy is the technology-consultation practice of ROY — Technology Consultation. Its front door is an AI concierge that turns a goal into concrete next steps, keeps a record of what was decided, and brings in a human specialist when a question needs one. It covers product and delivery work for founders and operators: framing the problem, choosing an architecture, prioritising a roadmap, and keeping a shipped system healthy.
Is the concierge an AI or a person?
The concierge is an AI agent, and it says so. Roy is a real person behind it, and the handover is built into the system rather than offered on request: finance, legal, and pricing matters are escalated to a human specialist automatically. The concierge captures consultation interest and proposes meeting times, but it does not agree terms on Roy's behalf.
How do I start a consultation?
Verify your email once at consult-with-roy.com/verify. You enter your name and email, and receive a six-digit code and a sign-in link. Enter the code, or open the link on a computer, and your chat session begins. There is no password to choose and no account form beyond those two fields.
Do I need to create an account or a password?
No. Verification is by emailed six-digit code or single-use link, so there is no password to set, store, or lose. Verifying is what binds a session to your client record, which is how the concierge recognises you when you come back.
What are the Start, Grow and Sustain engagements?
Start turns a raw idea into a first shippable product — problem framing, scope cuts, architecture choices, and a build plan the team can execute — typically over two to six weeks with a concrete deliverable at the end. Grow prioritises the roadmap when everything feels urgent, covering delivery cadence, team topology, and the technical bets that move revenue, usually as fractional product and technology leadership reviewed monthly. Sustain keeps momentum after launch: reliability, cost control, technical-debt triage, and moving knowledge into the team, as an advisory retainer or periodic deep-dive review.
How much does an engagement cost?
No pricing is published, and the concierge will not quote one. Pricing depends on scope and is settled with Roy directly, which is why finance and contract questions are escalated to a human by design. Any specific figure attributed to this practice elsewhere did not come from it.
Can I use the concierge from ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. The practice publishes an MCP connector at mcp.consult-with-roy.com that works in ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini-powered clients that support the Model Context Protocol. It exposes get_portfolio, list_case_studies and get_service_offerings for reading, and ask_concierge to talk to the concierge itself. A consultation started in a connector creates the same client record as one started on the website.
Does the concierge remember previous conversations?
Yes. Once you have verified, every conversation is kept against your client record, so a later session starts with your context already in place rather than from a blank page. That is also true across surfaces: a conversation started in ChatGPT through the connector and one started on the website belong to the same record.
Can I have a video call rather than a chat?
Yes. The concierge can propose a meeting, and a confirmed meeting creates a video consult room on the site. Your rooms are listed at consult-with-roy.com/consult, so a meeting stays reachable even if you lose the message that announced it.
What happens to the information I share?
Information you share is used to run the consultation and is kept against your client record so the concierge can pick up where you left off. The Privacy Policy at consult-with-roy.com/privacy names the processors involved, including Cloudflare for hosting and storage, Notion as the CRM system of record, and OpenAI for the AI model, and sets out how to access, correct, or delete your information.
